Upon completing his medical degree, Dr. Hamid moved to the United States to pursue further training, beginning with an internship at Mount Sinai University Services in New York City in 1996. His residency followed at West Virginia University, where he trained in internal medicine and neurology from 1997 to 2001. During his residency, he distinguished himself as a leader and was named Chief Resident in the Department of Neurology.

Specialization in Pain Medicine

With a growing interest in the complexities of pain management, Dr. Hamid pursued a fellowship in pain medicine at the University of Iowa's Department of Anesthesia, starting in 2002.
